Launching the "30 Mile Food Zone"

From November 1st 2008, The Priory Inn is launching its 30 Mile Food Zone. Over the last 4 and a half years, our popular restaurant in Tetbury has been steadily developing a close local network of farmers, suppliers and rural producers across all aspects of food and drink. We have now drawn a 30 mile radius around Tetbury and wherever possible, we will only buy food from within that area - this will be around 90% of the food we serve. As a busy restaurant in Tetbury, we believe we have a fundamental role to play in supporting our local rural economy. This aim combines with our desire to serve fresh food straight from the fields, and allow the outstanding quality of the produce to speak volumes when it reaches your plates.

Christmas and New Year at The Priory Inn

In line with our long-standing philosophy of buying high quality, local food and drink, we have designed our Christmas fare to show-case the very best Cotswold produce: Gloucestershire's premium free-range turkeys; mellow Wiltshire cured hams; hand-made creamy blue cheeses; award-winning local sparkling wine; and crumbly pies oozing with local fruits, served with ice-cream made from organic hedgerow flowers.

If you are lucky enough to be visiting the gardens at Highgrove this year, come and taste the local flavours of the Cotswold countryside at The Priory Inn restaurant before or after your visit. Having catered for many Highgrove groups, we understand that the timing of your day is crucial - as is easy parking - so contact us to reserve tables for your lunch party in advance. We are happy to accept pre-orders from our two-course Highgrove lunch menu, (featuring The Prince's Duchy Home Farm produce) making us the best possible restaurant in Tetbury for a truly local lunch!

The Priory Inn was awarded a Silver Dining Pub of the Year Award by Taste of The West.in 2006, 2007 and 2008. The Taste of the West Food and Drink Awards recognise the finest in food, drink, hospitality and food retail in the South West of England.  The awards are highly respected throughout the industry and in an anonymous review, the expert judges (made up of chefs, restaurateurs, trade buyers and technical specialists) evaluate the quality of meals, ambience, evidence of local sourcing and knowledge of staff.

The Priory Inn also picked up a Cotswold Life Food and Drink Award in the category of "Most Distinctive Local Menu" in both 2006 and 2007. This award reflects our belief in and commitment to the fabulously talented, passionate local producers and suppliers that The Cotswolds has to offer.
